Dolar AS Terus Menguat Ditengah Krisis Virus Covid-19

Investing.com - Tanpa dapat dihentikan saat ini, dolar AS terus menguat terhadap mata uang utama pada Kamis (19/03) di tengah volatilitas pasar keuangan yang liar dan kekhawatiran pengetatan likuiditas yang dipicu oleh pandemi virus covid-19 memicu peralihan minat pasar ke uang tunai.

Sterling () anjlok mendekati level terendah setidaknya sejak tahun 1985 terhadap greenback menurut laporan Reuters Kamis (19/03). turun ke level terendah 17 tahun, sementara dolar Selandia Baru jatuh ke titik terendah 11 tahun lantaran investor membuang aset-aset berisiko.

Kurs mata uang euro sempat naik terhadap dolar dan pound setelah Sentral (ECB) mengumumkan program pembelian aset senilai 750 miliar euro ($816,83 miliar) sebagai respons terhadap wabah virus covid-19.

Investor menjual apa yang mereka bisa untuk menyimpan uang tunai dalam bentuk dolar karena ketidakpastian yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya dipiuc oleh epidemi virus covid-19, yang mengancam akan melumpuhkan sebagian besar ekonomi global.

Mengutip data Investing.com Kamis pukul 13.30 WIB, dolar AS turun 0,34% menjadi 1.1573 per pound. Terhadap yen, greenback menguat 0,49% ke 108,60. Sedangkan, naik  0,08% menjadi 1,0920.
